Happy Birthday to us, we’re turning 5! It’s been an amazing 5 years for us and we have all of YOU, our fans, friends and supporters, who have listened to our music, read our blog, bought our t-shirts and come to our parties. So from the bottom of our collective hearts THANK YOU!
It’s been an amazing 5 years filled with growth and learning experiences. From the ‘legendary’ days at creekside to touring Europe, North and South America we have continued to pride ourselves as the purveyors of indigenous and diasporic music and culture. It was never easy, the music we play is rare, hard to find and not top 40, the venues were at times hard to deal with but we push through knowing there’s a much larger conversation being held outside our town, state and country, that we are much inclined to take part in. A conversation that I am honored to share with my fellow crew; Manolo Black and Dj Dus who have been with me since day one, Pagame with his ever flowing mullet, Quito who has captured the essence of our parties through his photography, Sonora with his ‘beat a day’ mentality, Vj 4th Wall who continues to breath live art into our parties and King Louie who will yell ‘Cuuummbbbiiaa’ over any song we’re playing regardless if it’s Cumbia or not. It is a blessing to work with these gentlemen of the night and now it is time to expand even further so without further jib jabbing it is my honor and privilege to introduce TWO new members to the Peligrosa camp.
CHINGO BLING & CHORIZO FUNK !!!!!!!!!!!
Chingo Bling was born Pedro Herrera III in Houston to Mexican American emigrants who came to the United States with dreams of achieving the American dream for themselves and their children. As one of Texas’ premier underground rappers/entrepreneurs, He has achieved a level of independent success that only a few in his generation have accomplished. From his radio shows to his mixtapes, his appearances on MTV and album releases the man has done, and continues, to do it all. Label owner, fashion designer, musician, rapper, father, friend and now an official member of Peligrosa, Chingo’s independent spirit, artistic nature, hard work and dedication will be blessing us on our continued journey….to shoot a peligrosa movie on the moon.

Chorizo Funk, Texas born and raised! This is a no brainer and we have no idea why it took so long to officially induct Chorizo Funk but we couldn’t be more ecstatic! The man, known for his clean mixes, fast hands and the patented ‘Chorizo Shuffle’ has been a staple in our humble Austin community, digging through the crates, for 9 years. The 2012 Lords of Wax champion is highly regarded by discerning party people for combining his technical skills and love of Soul, Funk, and Afro-Latin rhythms into a soulful experience on the dancefloor. He’s a music lover, party rocker, and Mexican…..a perfect fit for Peligrosa!

I’m back with the latest installment in the Clásico mix series. Volume 2 is a live recording with Rudy Rexx accompanying me on live percussion. A heavy Afro-Latin vibe as always, with music from Brazil, Puerto Rico, U.S, and Colombia. One of the benefits of playing with a live percussionist is the different approach [...]Read story
