Few producers so effortlessly travel between the worlds of hip-hop, dancehall, and electronic dance music, but Dre Skull creatively connects the dots between various elements of urban underground music and culture. In the tradition of Rick Rubin and Don Was, he’s a producer who sees beyond categories, creating clever combinations that push musical boundaries while also moving the dancefloor. Raised in the East Coast’s underground freakout punk scene (alongside the likes of Lightning Bolt and Paper Rad), Dre Skull has developed a unique aesthetic that mixes high conceptualism with pop accessibility – it’s a vibe that has made the world’s tastemakers sit up and take notice.
The one-time South Florida raver who grew up obsessively listening to Miami bass on the radio and dancing the night away at underground breaks parties. After making the move to NYC, she quickly infiltrated the DJ circuit and began turning heads with her knowledge of all things bass. XLR8R’s “artist to watch” Jubilee will always be Brooklyn’s bass sweetheart, she’s known for her rambunctious combination of upfront bass music, UK house, and tropical flavors.
The green ghost with the most, is an accomplished producer of cosmic tone poems and club anthems from the abyss. A chemistry of pre-hispanic shaman cries, YouTube videos of American microcosms, and 90s UK rave flyers make up his aesthetic, one which is not often associated with the Lone Star State.
